Serving Our Community
One approximation of the annual number of homeless in America is from a study by the National Law Center on Homelessness and Poverty, which estimates between 2.3 and 3.5 million people experience homelessness.
Although these numbers are daunting this is an exciting time for The Father’s House, because we can continue to make impact. Last year our church was a frontrunner in helping the community in Columbus. Partnering with the Mid – Ohio food bank we hosted the largest free church farmer’s market in the entire city of Columbus that fed over 7,000 people providing tasty nutritious food to our Columbus friends in need. We also hosted a free monthly family dinner that provided delicious home cooked meals and games to local families. We visited and served at other shelters throughout the year and participated in a major Christmas Dinner serving our homeless population. Truly our members have a heart to serve.
Prov. 19:17 When you help the poor you are lending to the Lord–and he pays wonderful interest on your loan!
From Church to Shelter
Now, our church has relocated from 511 Industrial Mile Rd. to 9670 Schoolhouse Rd. We have partnered with the YMCA and leased our old location with them in order to make room for an overflow shelter that will provide warm beds for about 190 men and women who would otherwise sleep outside during the frigid winter months. We are soliciting your prayers, love, labor, and financial support to be an extra special blessing to those who will walk through those doors. We will be hosting a monthly dinner at the shelter and we would love for you to be a part! Would you like to make a DONATION now?
